How to extend a 90 day visa to visit friends and family

I am flying from LAX to Hong Kong on 2/16/2023. I may want to stay longer than 90 days because I have family there. I have a passport from USA. What do I do to extend my stay for more than 90 days?

If you plan to stay for more than 90 days, you'd better apply for a stay permit before departure.
