About:China Student Visa

X2 Visa requirement

Hello,

I understand China started to issue X2 visa as of Jan 8. For US citizen, what is the X2 visa application requiremtn?
My understanding from the Chinese embassy website, it only requires admission letter from the university? or does it require JW202 also.

That's what I understand as well. My friend got an admission letter from local language school and use it to apply for X2. You need other documents like passport and photos etc.
