10-YEAR VISA

My chinese wife became a US citizen. We were married in China in 2011. We have a 9 year old son. Our son and I both have 10-year China Visas and my formerly Chinese wife is applying for a 10-year visa. The form fill application is confusing. Which TYPE visa are we applying for to get the 10-year visa? Also, we are visiting family, friends and hoping to bring friends as tourists, do we (our family of 3) require the invitation letter and state places we will be touring when we plan to decide when we get there? We also plan to surprise Ma and Ba so our cousin who provided an invitation letter in 2015, can provide one to keep our surprise.

You can apply for Q visas, as the familiy members of your parents-in-law.
No invitation letter is needed to apply for a tourist visa. Good luck and have fun~
