ID required for my Chinese wife to buy high speed train tickets

I have UK Passport. My wife has the Chinese Passport with a full indefinite residence permit for the UK. Her Chinese ID card is with the family in China. Can we both book tickets on a high speed train from Hong Kong to China using passports for ID? Hoping to buy tickets from you this year.
