Q1, Baby, Not Married

Hi, I have a Chinese girlfriend and 1 year old baby, but we are not yet Married. The baby has got his Huqo & Chinese ID Card. We used my Passport to obtain his ID as I am his Dad. Therefore am I able to apply for the Q1 Visa now as I am currently in China? In normal circumstances out of Covid, could this be done even though we are not yet Married? Thanks.

Yes, it is possible for you to get the Q1 visa in China.

No you can't get a Q1, you have to be married. The best what you can get is a Q2 visa.
