Italian come to China

dear

my friend is an Italian，he want to come to China for work in March. is it allowed if he already hold the valid China residence permit?what is the application process? Thank you!

Dear, may I know when he got this residence permit? If it is issued after November 5, 2020, he can use it to enter China.

yes, he got the residence permit after Nov 05th,2020. but seems like the PU letter(the invitation letter from China) is still needed, could you please re-confirm this point?
