TE letter for new job Visa

I have received the work permit document from my university. The TE letter is required or not for visa application of new job? kindly help

Dear Asad,
The work permit is being issued by a different dept. under the Ministry of Human Resource and has nothing to do with Entry and exit dept. (also called immigration).
To work in China you need a Z visa, and yes of course you need an official invitation letter (TE) that has to be applied by your University as they are the employer. Once you get the TE, only then you can apply for the Z visa. FYI, all foreigners visas are suspended except the applications holding TE issued by the Chinese govt. dept.
