About:Chinese Temporary Residence Permit

New 28 Sept Allowance and Cancelled

Hi, my query is with regard to the new ruling allowing people with expired residence permits back in. Due to Covid and since February, I could not return to China. My school then decided in June to cancel my work permit (my visa was due to expire in July). Will I be eligible for the new ruling? Will I be able to use the ruling that permits expired residence permits re-entry? Or is it that once a work permit is canceled then the residence permit will also follow suit? How would I find out if the residency permit was indeed canceled with the work permit? Thanks

Dear, I'm afraid you are not eligible for the rule. Usually, your residence permit expires after your working permit is cancelled. You can contact the Chinese embassy to confirm this.
