Visa during covid 19

Hi there,

Are we allowed to apply for a 10-year Q2 visa now, while this whole covid 19 thing is still ongoing? Has China opened its boarder to UK nationals for short term family visits? I'm a naturalised British, previous Chinese citizen. Really keen to go back to visit my parents who are Chinese residing within mainland.

Many thanks
Ella

Ella, at present, I'm afraid you can't get the 10-year Q2 visa.

As far as I am aware, they are only issuing temporary "stay" extension visas for the Q2 category (usually 30 days, but up to 180 days at most) and you must already be in China. It's best to check with the local embassy there to find out if you qualify and whether or not they will issue one at this time.
