Did you overstay? If not, please go to the local exit and entry administration to apply for a visa extension.

Yeah Jeremy is right. Go down to the border protection office. And apply for an extension
You need at least 7 days left on your Visa for the extension to go thru
They take your passport and you can usually take a photo there and they process it and you come back and shell out like a couple hundred RMB and get a whole page filled with an extension Visa BUT it only for max 30 days.

You may want to fill out your temp residency
With your Chinese (national?) Wife

And or change your Visa to a work or business Visa that can happen inside China

They sometimes say it can't BUT it totally can be converted in country. Make sure you get a nice employee to answer your questions at the centre it makes a diff if there having a good day or looking miserable...

There is also those family visit visas and since your married those can be for months to years stay...

Good luck
