s2 visa to s1 residence while in china.

Good day everyone I'm currently in China on S2 visa(Spousal visa) my wife works as a teacher here in China, got into China January to visit but due to the issue I couldnt go back home but right now I decided to stay for long, what's are my chances of getting S1 residence permit while in china without exiting the country, has anyone been through same process as well.TIA

You can have a try, but I assume it's not easy to get it during this special period.

Thanks for the reply, I wasnt thinking things should be easier during this special period as people cant travel back and forth, expense and risk wise
