About:Policy for Foreigners with Immediate Family Living in China

I got a 30 day visa extension then must leave China by June 18. But my country is not virus safe.

I`m a retired 64 year old man and I have lung problems and I`m concerned about my safety and health. If I get the COVID-19 virus I assume I am a gonner. In Toronto, Canada there are over 2,000 cases and about 200 more being diagnosed every day. They don`t have a handle on things there like they do here. My Chinese girlfriend said she would like to marry me so I can stay and we can be together and formalize our relationship. Is it possible for us to get married here and apply for the visa related to marriage and for me to stay here while it is being processed and approved?

I'm afraid you can't go back before the ban has been lifted.

Yes, you can get married, prepare marriage documents and ask for family visa, and it all depends on you place of residence, but in Beijing you can get family reunion visa up to 2 years. But you can't work, of course.
