In China with a 10-year "M" Visa - Pandemic concerns are problematic for business if I have to leave

I am in mainland China on a 10-year Business Visa - have 60-day stays. I entered just before the borders were shut to inbound travelers. My initial 60 days have passed, and I am very quickly reaching the end of the "60-day grace period" granted by China to foreigners. I have a residence, and a green "code" declaration of health. If I leave now, some talk says that the borders may not open until October (perhaps). I hope to apply for a stay-extension at the local Pub Sec Bur - however, the rumors flying around the social networking services say that my 10-year business visa will be canceled, just to be able to get a 30-day temporary visa. Can you give any information as to what I can apply for (so as to remain in China legally) and not loose my long-term active Visa? Your soonest reply is eagerly anticipated.

Dano, whether it will void your long-term visa or not, you have to extend your visa to be able to stay in China legally, so why not have a try?
