Chinese Residence Permit availeble until may, 2023

Hello, I've been stuck in Thailand in Koh Samui since late March because of covid-19.

I'm a 63-year-old retiree. My Chinese residence permit is valid until May 2023,
I would like to return to live in China , can I apply for a simple visa to return to China (Nanning Guangxi) at the Chinese Consulate in Bangkok?
Will my residence permit be cancelled because of this new return visa?
thank you for your help and your reply.

Currently, even if you got a visa from Thailand, you cannot enter China. Plus, your residence permit will be cancelled if you apply for a new visa.
