Flying from Qingdao to Guangzhou, and transferring flights (different ticket and airline) to Taiwan

Hi! It's been difficult for me to find information online since a lot of it is very confusing. I have a few questions:
1) As a Canadian, is it okay right now for me to fly from Qingdao to Guangzhou without any problems? My visa is expired but I've been told that visas in China are being automatically renewed.
2) Once I reach Guangzhou, can I stay at the airport until my next flight or will I need to undergo some sort of quarantine? I'll likely need to wait slightly over 20 hours before the flight to Taiwan.
