Will I be denied reentry

I erroneously looked at wrong page on passport thinking the date stated 17 March was residency expiry date. So I flew into Kunming airport on 12th from Kos-Cambodia. My reasoning was to pack up my apartment and leave on 17th. Correct residence expiry date was 9th March. I was questioned. I had been travelling around Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia awaiting permission to reenter China. This I received 4th March but as I thought 17th was exit day I did not immediately make flight plans. My question is: I have to return to pack up my apartment, will I be denied entry?, because of being returned as I entered without a valid Visa. However, had the virus not broken out, I would have returned early February to pack and hand over keys to new teacher and exit China.

Bronwyn, as your case is not that serious, I think it's possible for you to reenter China. Of course, you might be questioned and you need to explain the situation to them patiently.
