Does an official university letter substitute for a diploma?

Hi. I no longer have my college diploma - I lost it a while ago.

I do have a letter from the university confirming my graduation. It has my name, my degree type, and date of graduation, and it's printed on official university letterhead, along with a phone number for the registrar's office for further inquiries. Will this suffice in lieu of the actual chunky bulky diploma?

Yes, I personally think this is sufficient to replace the actual diploma.
