Is a tourist visa a legal proof of stay?

I need to apply for Chinese student visa from Korea, but I am from a different country, in the requirements they ask me for LEGAL PROOF OF STAY, when I entered Korea I got my passport stamped, because I don't need visa to come here. Is that enough? Thanks.

Well, if you don't need visa for South Korea, the entry stamp on your passport will be the legal proof of stay.
