Flying from US to Japan transiting via Shanghai Pu Dong Airport

Hi there,

I will be flying from San Francisco,CA to Okinawa; however, I have an 16 hours layover in Shanghai Pu Dong airport then on my flight back home I have another 19 hours layover in Shanghai again. Do I qualify for the 24 hour TWOV? I'm an U.S permanent resident with a Thai passport.

Thank you,
Fon

You qualify for the 24 hour TWOV but there is no guarantee that you will be granted the temporary entry permit to leave the airport, especially if your connecting flights are on the same day.
