About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Transiting Shanghai with UK passport valid 8 months

I am traveling to Sydney from London via Shanghai with a 3 hour stopover on the way and 8 hours on the way back. My passport will have 8 months validity on the first entry and 7 months on the second. Is this ok to transit through Shanghai?
