US green card holder/resident but German Citizen

I live in the US (green card holder) but only have the German passport. Will fly to Beijing in October, staying for 5 days. How can I apply for visa? Someone told me if one stays no longer than 6 days in Beijing no visa is necessary.

Dear, if your route is US - Beijing - a third country, and you don't have layovers in other Chinese cities except Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei, you can enjoy the 144h visa-free transit in Beijing so that no visa is necessary.
