About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Canadian Citizen(passport holder) resident in Arizona USA.

Traveling from LAX Los Angeles to Shanghai onward to Australia. Do we qualify for the 144 Hr. visa-free transit?

Yes, you do. Your itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai area. You should just take care that your flights are not allowed to have any additional landing(s) of any kind within mainland China. By the way, you should take your flight tickets in hard copy.
