About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Osaka to Harbin (free visa for 2 days)

Hello, we are citizens of Argentina and will be traveling from Osaka to Harbin for 2 days ( from and return to Osaka) Would it be possible to get the free visa if we depart and return to Japan?

No, unfortunately, your itinerary is not eligible for any scheme of visa free transit because this is not a transit, but just a round trip to China. As you can see, you miss a third country. In other words, instead of:

Japan - Harbin (China) - Japan

You have to introduce a third country and you can construct eligible itinerary, for example something like this one:

Japan - Harbin - Seoul (South Korea) - Japan

Simply speaking, the immediate cities before and after your Chinese destination (Harbin) have to be in two different countries.
