144 Visa on different Bookings

Hi, I'm considering booking a Seattle - Shanghai roundtrip flight on one booking, and Shanghai - Jeju round trip on another booking in between. This means I will be spending my time in Seattle - Shanghai - Jeju - Shanghai - Seattle, with Seattle - Shanghai - Jeju within 144 hours and Jeju - Shanghai - Seattle within another 144 hours.

Is this possible?
