About:240-hour Visa-free Transit in Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Jiangsu

Shanghai to Vietnam via Macau

I am landing in Shanghai (from Canada) on Jan 12th, staying at a hotel and visiting the city for 3 nights. Then on Jan 15th I fly from Shanghai to Da Nang. The ticket For the flight to Vietnam changes planes in Macau (same airline; no stopover). Is that allowed on the 144-hour visa-free permit. I am not leaving the airport in Macau, just changing planes in transit on a non-stop ticket Shanghai to Da Nang. And if I was denied entry at Shanghai PVG, what would happen to me for 3 days? Thank you

Macau is treated as a third country for visa free transit purposes so this is valid for the 144 hour visa free transit

Thank You so much. I thought that this was the case, but I would hate to arrive in Shanghai and not be allowed to enter.
