What is the procedure for applying for 72/144 hr visa in HK?

I have US passport. After exiting plane in HK, where do I go to apply for 72/144 hr visa? What information/papers do I need?

My situation: Land at 6 am on Thursday, cruise leaves on Saturday at 6pm. Hope to arrange Friday touring.

Which city will you do the 144h visa-free transit? You should apply for it upon arrival at the city. The papers you need are your passport, arrival card, and tickets for the cruise.

Thank you for replying — I will need the 144-hr visa for HK. Is there a special area or desk I will need to go to? Are there signs explain where to go?

There is no such thing as “144-hr visa for HK”. If you have a USA passport then you won’t need a visa.
