Hello Sir, can i extend my F visa for six months

I am From Pakistan, one of the Chinese professor sent me invitation letter to conduct one year research in his lab.but i got F visa with one month validity actually i have to stay one year, so can i extend my F visa after entering in China in order to complete my one year research.

You can extend the F visa in China, but the longest extended stay duration is 30 days.

Thanks how many time can i extend my F visa, can i change my F visa to Z work visa if my institute cooperate with me..?
