New Work Permit, Expired Temporary Residence Permit

Can I transfer a work permit to a new employer if my temporary residence permit expires? I am in the process of transferring my work permit. If I receive it after my residence permit expires what should I do? Should I go to Hong Kong and apply for a visitor, Z or M visa?

After you receive the work permit, you need to go to the local Exit and Entry Administration ASAP to renew your residence permit.
