USA - Shanghai - S.Korea is eligible for the 144h twov.

But for Korea - Beijing - Korea, you'll need a visa.

In the 144h visitation to shanghai what r the restrictions? R u allowed to catch the train anywhere or do a three gorges cruise for instance? If I fly in to Beijing from Australia on way to London for a stopover how long is the stay without visa? thanks jeff

There is only one restriction: you cannot leave the prescribed area of Shanghai, Jiangsu Province and Zhejiang Province (Google Maps can give you a good idea of its size). You can do anything else as you wish as long as it's legal.
