Visa needed for catching connecting flight in Shenzhen

I am Dutch with a Dutch passport and will be flying from London Heathrow to Vietnam, interrupted by a connecting flight in Shenzhen Boa'an Aiport. I will thus spend 7 hours at Shenzhen Boa'an Aiport, and will NOT leave in the meantime. However, I've been confused about some info (elsewhere) stating that a Chinese visa is could still be required at this particular airport. Is the latter information correct, or am I okay to make this transfer without a visa?

You don't need a visa but may have to go through immigration and pick up your bags, then re-check them and redo immigration and security.
