About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

KUL - PEK | PEK - HAN

I am flying from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing and will be in Beijing for less than 72 hrs for a meeting.
My next flight will then be to Tokyo, where I will stay for another few days. Then I will fly from Tokyo back to Kuala Lumpur.

Based on this, it seems to me that I do qualify for this transit visa?

Thanks

Yes, you are definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit that has replaced 72 hour visa free transit in Beijing a couple of years ago. By the way, this is not a visa, but a transit without a visa.

You should print out your flight tickets and your accommodation booking confirmation and bring them with you because you will need them at check-in in Kuala Lumpur and also during your application for a temporary entry permit upon your landing at Beijing airport.
