About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Kinmen to Shanghai

Hi,
We are thinking of travelling from Taiwanese Kinmen island by ferry and train to Guangzou and Shanghai, from where we'll fly to Amsterdam. Carrying Dutch passports what kind of visa will we need if we also want to stay some days in Shanghai?
Thanks in advance!
Rolf

To perform your itinerary, you will have to obtain a Chinese tourist (L) visa at CVASC (Chinese Visa Application Service Center) in The Hague. Please, be warned that after you enter mainland China in Xiamen, you are not allowed to exit to Hong Kong or Macau because at that moment, your visa will expire. If you travel Xiamen - Guangzhou - Shanghai or to any other mainland Chinese destination, you are perfectly fine.

You can take a flight from Kinmen via Taipeh to Shanghai and forward to Amsterdam to benefit of the 144h twov.
