About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit FAQ

Do I Qualify?

I am flying from Detroit to PVG 2 hour layover to CAN staying 72 hours then CAN to PVG to SEA. Does this qualify for the 72 hour and not having a VISA?

No this is not a transit to a third country but a trip to China. You need to apply for a Tourist (L) visa. As long as you have more than a year left on the current US passport then you can apply for 10 year multiple entry visa for the same cost as single entry.
