About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

144-Hr Visa-Exemption Transit

I will start a cruise in Singapore and it ends in Shanghai. Before Shanghai, it stops at Sasebo, Nagasaki in Japan for one day. I plan to stay in Shanghai for 2 additional days then fly directly to the US. Can I apply for the 144-Hour Visa-Exemption Transit at Ports of Entry in Shanghai?

Is this maybe 16 night "Southeast Asia & China Cruise" provided by Princess Cruises with departure from Singapore in April?

If I'm right then you are perfectly eligible for for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai and you don't need any kind of visa. Anyway, there is one condition. Your flight out of Shanghai should be a nonstop one to US.

You are advised to print out your flight ticket from Shanghai to US and also to book your accommodation in Shanghai and to print out a confirmation of your accommodation booking.

Before your arrival in Shanghai, there will be dispensed yellow forms, in really arrival/departure cards that you will fill out. Maybe, but less probably, there will be dispensed also the blue forms for those who intend to use 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai area. If this will not be a case, you will just fill out this blue form at the cruise terminal in Shanghai upon your docking.

Basically, that's it.
