About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Fly from HK to Shanghai and then back to HK on 144 hour transit visa

Hi,

Is it possible to fly from Hong Kong to Shanghai on the 144 hr transit visa if the final destination is also the point of origin, in this case Hong Kong? Or do I need to fly to Macau for example before returning to Hong Kong?

Thanks.

Hong Kong-Shanghai-Hong Kong obviously is not a transit to a third country, and requires a visa. Macao-Shanghai-Hong Kong would qualify.
