About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit in Guangdong

Hi, I will be flying from Singapore to Guangzhou to Hong Kong to USA

I want to apply for the 144 hour vft and stay with a friend in Guangzhou. I fly standby out of Hong Kong to USA. Is there a ferry to take to Hong Kong? Thank you for your help.

Part one:

Your itinerary:

Singapore - Guangzhou - Hong Kong

Is eligible for 144 hour visa free transit and you can enjoy it by traveling and staying within the entire Guangdong province.

You can choose among three options how to leave Guangzhou to Hong Kong and after you decide, you will have to book your ticket in advance, before your departure from Singapore. Your options are:

- A ferry from Nansha port south from Guangzhou
- A train from Guangzhou East to Hong Kong Hung Hom railway station (please, keep in mind this is the only train eligible when using 144 hour visa free transit between Guangzhou and Hong Kong)
- A plane on direct flight between Guangzhou and Hong Kong

When you decide, you will book a ticket, but I suggest you to come here and tell us about your decision and you will be explained how to do it.

Part two:

If you prefer a ferry, you will visit CKS - Chu Kong Passenger transport website where you will book your ticket from Nansha port to Hong Kong China Ferry Terminal. After that, you will receive an e-confirmation that you will print out and take that printout with you. You will use this printout as a proof that you will be in a real transit and also to collect your ferry ticket at Nansha port.

Also, you will declare at check-in in Singapore that you will travel to Hong Kong via Guangzhou using 144 hour visa free transit. After a short inspection of your tickets, you will be allowed to board the plane. Upon arrival in Guangzhou, you will approach 144 hour visa free transit counter where you will fill out the blue form. Here you will insert the name of your friend, an address and her/his phone number. Please, have in mind that you will have to register yourself at the police station (PSB -Public security bureau) within 24 hours from your arrival assisted by your friend.

To reach Nasha port, you will just take a metro line number 4 from Guangzhou until the very last station on this metro line.
