About:Visa on Arrival

I am a Malaysian and I have previously obtained and used my Chinese Visa.

My last entry to China via Shanghai was 3rd week of October 2019. I plan to visit Shenzhen with an Indonesian friend. We plan to fly directly to SZ. Do we need to apply a regular visa or can we get the VOA at Bao'an Airport? Thank you.

Thank you for your fast response. I plan to fly to Hong Kong International Airport. Upon arrival I will take the ferry to Shekou Port. Am I able to apply for VOA at Shekou Port for entry into Shenzhen? by the way I am a Malaysian and holding a valid Malaysia Passport. Please advise. Thank you

Unfortunately, it is impossible to obtain a Shenzhen VOA when you arrive by plane. If you arrive by plane, you are supposed to have a Chinese visa obtained in advance.

Unfortunately, Malaysian citizens are not eligible for a VOA at the time being with the exception of those who have been granted a Chinese visa previously by a Chinese embassy or consulate or as you say, using a regular visa. In your case, I would say that your chances to be granted a Chinese visa upon arrival in Shekou are very good. Please, just be aware of opening times of VOA office at Shekou port: 9:00 - 13:00 & 14:30 - 17:00.
