Then you do not need a visa, but will need to claim your luggage and go through immigration (and possibly to check-in again for your MNL-bound flight).

You can get an entry permit which technically counts as "leaving the airport", but 2.5 hours is already tight for going through normal immigration and customs procedures twice so a city tour is obviously out of the question (if that's what you were referring to). Also you may have to bicker with Aeroflot's ground staff to get on board and if that happens, be sure to ask them to carefully consult Timatic and/or call Shanghai immigration office.

Andrius, could you, please, offer some more details:

- airports immediately before and after Shanghai
- do you change airports in Shanghai
- time between your arrival and departure to/from Shanghai

Thank you

Timatic is a huge and the most authoritative database used by airport staff to determine visa or similar requirements for passengers traveling on international flights. Some airlines offer a free use of Timatic on their websites, so you can see how does it function if you visit, for example, Air New Zealand website because they are offering Timatic on their website.
