macau - beijing - hong kong - San Francisco

Hello,

We will be flying from Macau to Beijing then leaving Beijing to San Fran with a stop over in Hong Kong. Is this okay?

Yes, it is. Your itinerary is definitely eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Beijing area. You should just take care that you don't have any additional landing within mainland China of any kind.
