About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Qualify for China 24-Hour Visa-Free Transit?

US passport holder travels from Los Angles to Chengdu connecting to Shenzhen, then from Shenzhen to Hong Kong on the same day with 24 hours.

Can I qualify for the 24-hour TWOV? If yes, can I apply for the 24-hour visa free entry permit at Chengdu airport?

Actually, the answer above is wrong.

You are definitely not allowed to travel to Hong Kong using 24 hour visa free transit when landing at Shenzhen airport. Just don't do that because you will probably be denied boarding already in Los Angeles.

You have to know that Shenzhen airport was never eligible for 24 hour visa free transit if the passenger wants to use it to reach Hong Kong or Macau.

Just try some other combination, like Guangzhou and taking a ferry from Nansha port south from Guangzhou. Also, you should be aware that you have to book a ferry or train ticket in advance, even before your departure from Los Angeles and to have it in your hand at the time of check-in. Be very cautious with this transit to perform it in the proper way and not as it was suggested to you in the above post.
