Here are the steps you have to accomplish:
- Before you make your check-in in Europe (or elsewhere), you will book a ferry for the route between Shenzhen Shekou port to Hong Kong Macau Ferry port. You will book your ticket through CKS - Chu Kong Passenger Transport company website. You will receive an e-confirmation that you will print out and have with you as proof of your transit intention. Also, you will use this e-confirmation printout to collect your real paper ticket at Shekou terminal. Please, be informed that your ferry has to depart from Shekou at least 24 hours and 1 minute after your scheduled arrival by plane to be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit. In other words, you have to stay in Shenzhen for more than 24 hours.
- You will also print out your flight ticket and have those printouts with you.
- You will declare at check-in in Europe (or elsewhere) that you will travel to Hong Kong via Shenzhen using 144 hour visa free transit and you will present your all tickets. After a short inspection, you will be allowed to board the plane.
- Upon arrival in Shenzhen, you will approach 144 hour visa free transit counter where you will fill out a blue form and again, after a short inspection of your tickets, you will get a sticker in your passport and you will be allowed to exit the airport.
- After the above mentioned formalities, you can travel throughout Guangdong province because when traveling on 144 hour visa free transit, you are not limited to Shenzhen city boundaries only.
- To travel to Hong Kong, you will really have to take exactly that ferry that you have bought your tickets for.
Please, have in mind that your flight to Shenzhen should not have any additional landing within mainland China or in other words, you have to arrive in Shenzhen by a flight that goes nonstop from some other country, different than mainland China.
