About:240-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Two Stop Question

I am flying from the USA to Beijing, Beijing to Shanghai, and Shanghai to Taiwan. I don't want to leave the airport in Beijing, so can I use my transit visa for Shanghai?

A transit visa is something that you apply for in advance from a consulate or embassy. If you are referring to transit without visa, you are limited to 24 hours because you have two consecutive stops in mainland China.
