About:144-Hour Visa-Free Transit

DO I actually need to transit?

I have the following plane tickets:
Hungary(EU) - Shanghai (arrival 21st Nov) - HongKong (arrival 23rd Nov)
Hongkong - Shnaghai (arrival 24th Nov) - Hungary (arrival 25th Nov)

I would leave for HongKong only for the eligibility of the 144 hour twov, but my main objective is to be back in Hungary. Am I eligible (and law - abiding) if I do not travel to HongKong but just catch my flight back to Hungary the next day? I have the plane ticket for transit, but I would not use it, just leave back to Hungary before the 144 twov expires.

Thank you!

You MUST take the flight to Hong Kong. Otherwise you face possible detention, fine, and ban from China. It is seriously a very bad idea to attempt to deceive Chinese police. Don't do it.
