About:Visa on Arrival

I am hoping to visit Shenzhen but need to fly to the Philippines during my stay for two days.

My flight is return from London to Shenzhen. I want to arrive in Shenzhen and then fly directly on another airline to the Philippines and return 3 days later to Shenzhen for two days. Do I need one or two entrance visas? I have hand luggage only.

If your complete itinerary is:

London - Shenzhen - Philippines

Philippines - Shenzhen - London

And you don't have any additional landings, especially within mainland China, you will be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shenzhen or better to say in the entire Guangdong province both ways. In other words, you don't need any kind of visa. Also, your separate tickets are allowed and they were accepted since the very beginning of visa free transit scheme.

You will just print out your flight tickets and have those printouts with you. Also, you will declare in London that you will travel to the Philippines via Shenzhen using 144 hour visa free transit and that's it. You will tell the same thing in the Philippines before your departure back, but you will just inverse direction of travel.

Upon your arrival in Shenzhen, you will approach 144 hour visa free transit counter where you will fill out a blue form and shortly after you will get a sticker in your passport and be allowed to exit the airport. Everything is free of charge. That's it.
