Short-term study in Canada while applying for Chinese tourist visa

Hi, I am holding Malaysian passport and will be studying in Ontario for roughly four months from Jan to April 2020, during this time, I will be holding a Canada visitor visa. Then in May, I will return to my home country, before that, I plan to stop at Guangzhou and travel for a couple of days as a tourist. May I know if it is possible to apply for a Chinese tourist visa in Toronto so that I could travel before I head back to Malaysia?

Yes, as you have a study visa in Canada, you can apply for a China visa there.

But I won’t be holding a study visa, but a visitor visa in Canada. Is it possible? Thanks.

It's possible, but the result is not assured. Anyway, you can have a try.
