About:72-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Hi my route is United States to Shanghai on 12/30, then to Thailand, Bali, Twain, Hong kong.

Will return to Shanghai on 1/29 . Totally I only stay in Shanghai for 3 nights before n after. I m US citizen , Can I use 144 visa free. Thank you

Yes, you will be eligible for 144 hour visa free transit in Shanghai twice. Anyway, you should have in mind that you are not allowed to have any additional stop of any kind within mainland China. In other words, your itineraries have to be:

US - Shanghai - Thailand

X country (this can also be Hong Kong, Taiwan or Macau) - Shanghai - US
