About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Pakistan passport holder

Hello, I am a Pakistan passport holder and I will have a 20 hour layover in Beijing before flying to the next country. Will I be eligible for the 24 hour entry permit? Will I be allowed to leave the airport?

Reza, if your itinerary is:

A country - B country (Beijing - China) - C country

And you don't have any additional landing within mainland China, you are definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit.

Upon your landing in Beijing, you will apply for a temporary entry permit at 24 hour visa free transit counter to be allowed to exit the airport. Anyway, you should be aware that the issuing of a temporary entry permit is always upon discretion of immigration authorities on a day of your arrival. You can increase your chances by booking your accommodation in Beijing, but even in such a case, you cannot be certain that a temporary entry will be granted. In reality, you should find out a way to kill your time with the transit area of the airport in case of rejection.
