how long does value on beijing yikatong card last?

I visit the city a few times a year. If I don’t use the card for a while, how long can I still use the card?   Sometimes I try to use an old card, it doesn’t work, but the person at the ticket office can fix it.  Thanks

As I know, there is no exact period of validity. If you find the card cannot work, you just need to go to the ticket office and let the staff activate the card. :)
