About:24-Hour Visa-Free Transit

Do I need a transit visa through Shanghai Pudong Airport?

Hello,

I am a Nigerian student studying in the US. I plan to go to Myanmar for school work but will be transiting through Shanghai Pudong Airport to Yangon, Myanmar. The layover time in Shanghai is about 5 hours. I hold a Nigerian passport with an F-1 US student Visa and wanted to confirm whether I would need a transit visa for Shanghai.

Thank you

Your itinerary is definitely eligible for 24 hour visa free transit and you don't need any kind of visa. Assuming that you are flying on a single (through) ticket, you will have just a minimum of formalities upon your landing in Shanghai and you will remain within the transit area of the airport waiting for your onward flight to Yangon.
