First Traveller from Germany to SZ (no Chinese Visa granted before)

Hi, I'm from Germany and wanna travel to SZ with the 5-day VOA at the border. I haven't applied nor a Chinese Visa was granted to me before. Is there any possibility that the VOA will be refused because of that? Thanks in advance!

Carina, you are perfectly allowed to apply and obtain a 5 day Shenzhen VOA without the condition that you have been granted a Chinese visa previously. In other words, if you are just an ordinary person with standard behavior, there is no reason why you should not be granted this particular visa. I would say, you can just be relaxed and travel to the border crossing with peace of mind. You are advised to bring 168 CNY in cash which is the price of VOA for German citizens and if you have, bring a passport size photo to speed up the process. Also, if you intend to stay in Shenzhen overnight, the immigration likes when they see a confirmation of your accommodation booking for at least for the first overnight.
